ENJOY THE SWING! by Talon Gustafson
A review of the event of a thread by Ann Hamilton
I am quite behind with this, but Hamilton’s installation came and went and I hadn’t read anything smart about it until today.
Joshua Marsh
I made some small sketches for Paper, Mirror, Torn - up at Brian Morris Gallery (163 Crystie St. NY, NY) until April 21st. Lots of great work by terrific artists ~~~ check it!
all 9”x6” pencil, colored pencil, gouache, acrylic, whatever on paper. My goal was no rulers - just draw it out, minimal erasing. Letters with multiple perspectives (still isometric). The pink is actually fluorescent but my scanner didn’t like it.

Nick Cave and Nick Cave
Nick Cave’s horses will be at Grand Central through tomorrow 3/31/13 11-2pm. It’s too bad Nick Cave won’t be singing at the same time.

Maya artist. Effigy Vessel in the Form of a Jaguar Impersonator, 400–500. Mexico or Peten, Guatemala. Ceramic, pigment, 7 x 4 1/4 x 3 in.
Heiltsuk artist. House Post, from a Set of Four, 19th century. Wáglísla, British Columbia, Canada. Cedar, 98 x 35 1/4 x 17 1/2 in.
Nasca artists. Mantle, known as the Paracas Textile, 100–300. Peru. Cotton, camelid fiber, 24 1/2 x 58 1/4 in.
These pictures don’t convey how awesome the pieces are, especially the Paracas cloth. There are hundreds of characters intertwined with native flora hand-knit in 3D all the way around the border. I want to go back just to study this one again.
